Ways to Use Multimedia in the Classroom

Using multimedia in the classroom can be done in several different ways. The first is that the teacher uses interactive presentations to the class using PowerPoint or videos through a computer and projector screen. Another way is that students themselves can be allowed to create their own presentations as a class project. The class as a whole can also devolop presentations or projects.

Teachers may use PowerPoint presentations as part of their lessons. These provide exciting visuals and graphics for students to look at to aid in their learning process. PowerPoints are relatively simple to put together and effective as a teaching tool.

Students can use multimedia to help understand chapters or concepts in the class. Insipration software can be used for students to outline chapters, or make concept maps for them to understand complex ideas. PowerPoints can also be used for student presentations and speeches to the class.

Classes as a whole can use multimedia as an outlet to display class work. A class website can be created allowing students to contribute as a whole as well as individually. Classes might also film a video of them reinacting a famous play, or create their own creative interpretations of a literary work.
